Peter Richardson

Studied illustration at Brighton Art College under the tutelage of John Vernon Lord. Upon graduation he worked initially in the field of children’s publishing before expanding his practice to undertake work on a wide variety of briefs, including advertising, publishing, editorial and design.
He has created character designs, storyboards and backgrounds for many of London’s top animation studios, as well as providing artworks for TV programmes such as the BBC’s Newsnight.
During the early nineties he moved into the field of comic strip art helping to create strips for IPC, including the cult classic Streets of Rage.
His work has included overnight storyboarding at a variety of advertising agencies, teaching and lecturing about illustration as well as editing the internationally acclaimed quartely publication, Illustrators.
Shortlisted for the prestigious Kate Greenaway Award in 2009 and the 2015 World Illustration Award Peter has exhibited in London, Los Angeles and Paris. His co-creation and developmental work on Spook Squad Adventures Too Scary For Boys saw the project selected as one of the top five IPs at a recent media festival in Cannes and he continues to work extensively throughout the field of illustration..
