La Poste pays tribute to one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20 th century: Alexandre Grothendieck (1928–2014), winner of the Fields Medal in 1966. No need to be an expert in algebraic geometry to appreciate Faunesque’s ingenious illustration and his mastery of portraiture.
